Traveling alone can be scary in the first moment or might seem boring but I totally didn´t regret this trip!
Atlanta, capital of the state Georgia, is a really cool, modern, hip city with a lot of young people and things to see and do. I spend two days in the city and I got to see a lot but there was still so much more to see! Most of the day I walked from one point on my list to the next and the Atlanta BeltLine makes the city really bike and walk friendly. This would already be the first thing to do: walk the Atlanta BeltLine or rent a bike!

Atlanta has a lot of cool streetart to offer, whether it is a painted wall or graffiti under a bridge. I really enjoyed the colorful vibe it had! Along the BeltLine you will also find one of Atlanta´s tiny doors near a really nice vintage shop (all near the ponce city market).

Along the BeltLine you will also find two really cool street markets. The Krog Street Market and the Ponce City Market. Check out a variety of different foods or do some shopping at the shops at the Ponce City market. The shop citizen supply was one of my favorites for its really cool shirts and interior stuff. And not only the clothes is a highlight, they also have two really good spots in their store to take pictures!

"The pursuit is happiness"
Other cool areas to just walk around is the Inman Park (also at the Atlanta BeltLine) where they had a little festival when I was there and I tried the "King of Pop" popsicles. They have really good flavors! And of course I had one with ginger. (#gingerlove)

Other nice areas to just stroll around or have a coffee or lunch are East Atlanta village, Old fourth ward, Virginia highlands, Midtown, Downtown or Decatur.
To get some of the history of Atlanta you need to go to the birthplace of Martin Luther King and to the park, museum and freedom walk just up the street. I was kind of speechless when I was actually standing right in front of it.

Since the Olympic Games took place in Atlanta in 1996 there is a park called Centennial Olympic Park where you can also find the Atlanta Aquarium and the World of Coca Cola which I didn`t visit. Instead I did a tour through CNN which was totally worth it. So interesting to look behind the scenes! The centennial park has a waterplay in it, too with flags of all different nations around it.

You can either take the local train called "MARTA" or you can walk from the Centennial Olymic Park to Georgia´s state capitol. With its golden roof it is definitely worth a visit (and a picture).

The piedmont park is a nice green park to just rest, take a picnic or do some sports or visit the botanical garden.

At night I can recommend going to downtown where you will find the Hard Rock cafe and other cool places to go out. Also, if you want to get a good view and photo on downtown then go to the Jackson Street Bridge. I did it by night and there were a lot other photographers.

Last but not least I want to recommend a place to eat called "Ria´s Bluebird".
Mentioned by "The New York Times" they are supposed to have the best pancakes worldwide.

I tried them, I liked them but it was nothing super special. The vibe and design of the restaurant was really inspiring.
All in all a great city and a great trip and I would definitely come back!
Also to recommend is the app "Culturetrip" where you will find great ideas what to do in most places and cities of the world.
